Resident Evil 4 Remake All 10 Yellow Herb Locations: Guide

Resident Evil 4 Remake All 10 Yellow Herb Locations: Guide

Resident Evil 4 Remake masterfully revitalizes the classic survival horror experience, blending intense combat, atmospheric exploration, and strategic resource management. Among the most valuable resources are herbs, which can be combined to restore health or boost your maximum HP. Yellow Herbs, in particular, are essential for increasing Leon’s vitality, making them a priority for players seeking an advantage against the game’s relentless threats.

Unlike Green and Red Herbs, Yellow Herbs do not restore health on their own. Instead, they must be mixed with other herbs to unlock their full potential. Combining one Yellow Herb with a Green Herb restores health and slightly increases the health bar. Adding a Red Herb to the mix maximizes the effect, providing a full heal and the largest possible health bar expansion. Given the limited number of Yellow Herbs in a single playthrough, finding all of them can significantly enhance your survivability.

This guide details the locations of all 10 Yellow Herbs in the Resident Evil 4 Remake, organized by chapter for easy tracking.

Chapter 1: The First Yellow Herb

  1. After the Wooden Bridge: Shortly after the encounter with the first Ganado in the forest and crossing a rickety wooden bridge, you’ll enter a small, dimly lit shack. Before exiting the far side, thoroughly search the interior. The Yellow Herb is sitting on a shelf next to some other items, easy to miss if you’re rushing.

Chapter 2: Two Early Game Boosters

  1. The Farm (After the Village Fight): After surviving the intense village square siege, you’ll progress to a more open farm area. On the left side, you’ll find a small, isolated chicken coop. The herb is on the ground inside this coop. Be cautious, as a few enemies may still be patrolling the area.
  2. The Fish Farm: Continue from the farm to the Fish Farm area, recognizable by its hanging nets and dock. Before descending the path toward the boat, check the small wooden shed to the right. The Yellow Herb is on a barrel inside.

Chapter 3: Path to the Church

  1. The Abandoned Factory: In the area with the large gondola lift (the one you eventually use to send Ashley across), you’ll first need to navigate through a run-down factory. After dealing with the enemies inside, look for a set of stairs leading to a upper walkway. The herb is on a crate in this elevated section.
  2. The Graveyard (Before the Church): Right before the entrance to the church, you’ll pass through a graveyard. Instead of going straight to the church gate, take a hard right. The herb is tucked away behind a large tombstone in the corner, near a breakable barrel.

Chapter 4: The Castle Approach

  1. The Castle Battlements (First Visit): Shortly after entering the castle grounds and ascending to the outer battlements, you’ll come across a large mounted catapult. Just past this weapon, on the left-hand side, is a small alcove with a barrel and a crate. Smash them to reveal the Yellow Herb.

Chapter 6: Inside the Grand Hall

  1. The Library (Maze Room): In the room where you must rearrange the bookcases to create a path—often called the Library or Maze Room—the puzzle isn’t the only thing to find. Once you’ve moved the shelves and before you proceed, check the newly revealed corner nooks. One of them contains this valuable herb on a desk.

Chapter 7: Depths and Puzzles

  1. The Underground Waterway: After draining the water in the underground passage, you’ll drop down into the now-dry canal. Work your way forward until you find a small, recessed alcove on the right-hand wall, just before a ladder. The Yellow Herb is sitting on the ground here, partially obscured by shadow.

Chapter 9: The Castle’s Secrets

  1. The Throne Room: After acquiring the King’s Grail and returning to the main hall, you’ll gain access to the throne room via the elevator. The Yellow Herb is located on a small table to the left of the grandiose throne itself. It’s hard to miss once you’re in the room.

Chapter 10: The Final Yellow Herb

  1. The Clock Tower (Lower Section): During your ascent through the Clock Tower, you will eventually reach a large gear mechanism. Before taking the lift up to the next level, thoroughly explore the lower platform. The final Yellow Herb is nestled between some boxes and crates near the gears.

Tips for Efficient Herb Use

  • Don’t Use Them Alone: Remember, a Yellow Herb by itself does nothing. Always combine it with at least a Green Herb.
  • Prioritize the Combo: A Green + Yellow combo is good for a heal and a small boost. However, a Green + Red + Yellow combo is the ultimate goal, offering a full heal and the maximum health bar expansion.
  • Save Them: There’s no need to use a Yellow Herb the moment you find it. If your health is full, store it in your Attaché Case and save it for when you can create a powerful triple-combo after a tough battle.
  • Revisit Areas (with Ashley): Some areas, like the Farm or the Fish Farm, can be revisited later with Ashley in tow. While backtracking isn’t always necessary, it’s an option if you missed an herb earlier.
  • New Game+: If you miss any Yellow Herbs in your first playthrough, you can always collect them in a New Game+ run. Your expanded health bar carries over, making subsequent playthroughs slightly easier.

By diligently seeking out all ten Yellow Herbs, you empower Leon to withstand the horrors that await in his mission to rescue the President's daughter. This investment in exploration will pay dividends during the game’s most challenging boss fights and enemy encounters. Good luck, and watch your back
